Initial Comment:
At the root I have three branches : 'poeple', 'groups' and 'addressbooks'. I want to authenticate users stored in the 'poeple' branche and I also want that only the 'addressbooks' branche are visibile in PhpLdapAdmin interface (it's just for editing the addressbooks, not all the tree ...).

When Server:login:attr is not set (or is 'dn') it's possible to authenticate posixAccount outside Server:server:base with their full DN without any problems. The PhpLdapAdmin interface shows only the base, not all the tree.

The problem : if I set Server:login:attr to 'uid' it becomes impossible to authenticate unless I set the base to root ...
