getting Luabind to work on IRIX

Dear All, I have been trying to get Luabind to work on IRIX (unsuccessfully) when I noticed that boost and luabind were being brought together and that the problems related to IRIX had been considered. I have brought myself up-to-date with this list but am unclear about the best way to proceed. Is the code here in a nearly good enough state to use - and thus I should try and get this code to port (if it hasn't been done already), or should I try and get straight Luabind ported? Or should I give up and wait for a few weeks? I have reasonable C++ and IRIX skills but I am not a rocket scientist with templates. If rocket science is required (i.e. delving into compiler or boost template minutea) I will wait.
