Implementation of conical gradients

Hi, Reading the source code of pixman I've found that it exists the implementation of the conical gradient. http://cgit.freedesktop.org/pixman/tree/pixman/pixman-conical-gradient.c There is not such type of pattern in the Cairo API so for my needs I had to use mesh gradients to emulate a conical gradient. It would simplify a lot to have native support of the conical gradients in Cairo API, though. Would it be implemented in future versions?
