Looks fine to me. But it still depends on which font font-config is
going to use. You should try to run:
fc-match "Adobe Helvetica"

For me this gives:
helvR12-ISO8859-1.pcf.gz: "Adobe Helvetica" "Regular"

As long as you don't get the bitmap fonts used you wont see the problem
Good for you, but bad for me :-)
