Haven't looked at the text, but will chime in that "example text" for
font selection needs to include the following in this order:
O0l1L{}`'%_-|
Those tend to be the most problematic. On Windows in Thunderbird that
last pipe character is just a solid bar instead of the two mushed dots
it is supposed to be.
