Thought I would spin this off from the other conversation because this, assuming FOX would somehow become community driven, is really the central question. Is there any good method of identifying where FOX is still in use today? On Manjaro it appears Goggles Music Manager is built using FOX. When you open the "add remove" software application and search for "fox gui" that comes up. For all of these legacy/heritage platforms (which I applaud FOX for still supporting) is there any good method of identifying what is still in use where? It's not "just an Intel PC world" out there. Whatever is trendy today has to be lived with for a long time. https://www.logikalsolutions.com/wordpress/information-technology/lts/ On mid-range and mainframe systems we used to take 5-7 years developing core business systems, they would take another 5-7 years to settle in, after that we would take another 5-7 years gathering really good information about what the projected needs of the business would be 10-20 years out so we could have good systems in place to meet that need. The slow roll and not dropping of platforms is one of the things I really like about the FOX project. Qt abandons platforms willy-nilly. Don't be Qt. Don't cut off half your torso to use something new and cool. -- Roland Hughes, President Logikal Solutions (630)-205-1593 http://www.theminimumyouneedtoknow.com http://www.infiniteexposure.net http://www.johnsmith-book.com http://www.logikalblog.com http://www.interestingauthors.com/blog
