relative time

I saw your bugs for 3046 and 2895. Those do sound like useful
capabilities, and I have seen them in other places than on the Mac,
also. You suggest:

NSEarlierTimeDesignations (modify NSYearMonthWeekDesignations) (e.g.,
"prior"
(year), "last" (month), "past" (week), "ago" (day))
NSHourNameDesignations  times of day (e.g., (0, midnight), (12, noon,
lunch),
(10, morning), (14, afternoon), (19, dinner))
NSLaterTimeDesignations (like "Earlier", above) (e.g., "next")
NSNextDayDesignations ("tomorrow")
NSNextNextDayDesignations ("day after tomorrow") ("asatte" in
Japanese)
NSPriorDayDesignations ("yesterday")
NSThisDayDesignations ("today")
NSYearMonthWeekDesignations ("year", "month", "week")

Some observations:
- The names for the date fields look useful, as well as the the XDays
- German has both what corresponds to the day after tomorrow
(uebermorgan, roughly 'overmorrow') but also the day before yesterday
(vorgestern, roughly 'foryesterday')
- I'm a bit leery about the adjectives, like "last", since they often
decline depending on the noun they are used with. Probably better if
these were whole phrases.
- I don't know about 'dinner' and similar phrases.
