Reading memory cards wasn't specified by the PC/SC group (I don't know whether 
its is now), but pcsclite provided a special RAW protocol to support it 
anyway.

The problem is that the driver (and in case of intelligent readers: the reader 
as well) needs to support it, too.

If it were the case with your driver/reader I believe pcscd would be able to 
connect to the card.

Anyway, you should at least give it a try.

Since the producer of your device seems to provide a driver (the one you 
mentioned above) you could create a driver description file. Just use the XML 
file for the free ccid driver as a template and change the name and location 
of the driver and the USB ids of your reader.

If libchipcard's daemon recognizes the device it tries to start it up and 
connect to the inserted card upon "chipcard-tool atr".

This should work with processor cards in any case, and with luck it does also 
with i2c cards...
