I think what Matthew wants to do is use VBA/VB scripting to access the
functions. Since the emphasis is on the word _scripting_, there isn't
anywhere for the code to statically link to.

As I understand it, a language binding of some sort is sought after.
Sadly, I've never played enough with VBA/VB scripting to be able to
write one.
