Yes, I now realize that all that time I was using Debian's git instead
of real upstream. The benefit of Debian's is that it is debianized.

Great and thank you. I just cloned it and will update with each new
release. 

It would be nice though if you would copy and paste Debian's debian
folder into yours so that we can build debs quickly and easily.

As a developer, this helps me stay on the bleeding edge.

Ah, but the OpenAL halo long ago left their implementation and now sits
