That is fine.  I have to create a special Makefile.cc_config
to cross-compile to 32-bit code on my x86_64 system.  On normal
systems, this can just be blank.

I have been testing gua in a different manner, but I will attempt to use
it from the command line and see if I can find & fix the problem.

I removed all threads from the vocal2 code, so there are no more 'run'
functions.  With some patience, you can now trace the linear flow of
the program, starting with the 'while' loop in gua.cxx.
