I have had much better success with the CVS versions of wx.Widgets and
wx.NET. My understanding is the wx.Widgets Mac port in CVS is much farther
along than the 2.5.1 development point release. So perhaps this is it. Or it
could be because this time I compiled without SDL.
Some questions and notes:
1) Compiling wx-c I get a few warnings:
g++ -fPIC `/usr/local/packages/wx-widgets-cvs/bin/wx-config --cxxflags` -D
"WXMAKINGDLL" -MD -o obj/bitmap.o -c bitmap.cxx^M
bitmap.cxx: In function `bool wxBitmap_LoadFile(wxBitmap*, const char*,
int)':^M
bitmap.cxx:91: warning: invalid conversion from `int' to `wxBitmapType'^M
bitmap.cxx:91: warning: initializing argument 2 of `virtual bool ^M
wxBitmap::LoadFile(const wxString&, wxBitmapType)'^M
g++ -fPIC `/usr/local/packages/wx-widgets-cvs/bin/wx-config --cxxflags` -D
"WXMAKINGDLL" -MD -o obj/icon.o -c icon.cxx^M
icon.cxx: In function `bool wxIcon_LoadFile(wxIcon*, const char*, int)':^M
icon.cxx:36: warning: invalid conversion from `int' to `wxBitmapType'^M
icon.cxx:36: warning: initializing argument 2 of `virtual bool ^M
wxIcon::LoadFile(const wxString&, wxBitmapType)'^M
menuitem.cxx: In function `wxMenuItem* wxMenuItem_ctor(wxMenu*, int, char*,
^M
char*, int, wxMenu*)':^M
menuitem.cxx:20: warning: invalid conversion from `int' to `wxItemKind'^M
menuitem.cxx:20: warning: initializing argument 5 of `^M
wxMenuItem::wxMenuItem(wxMenu*, int, const wxString&, const wxString&, ^M
wxItemKind, wxMenu*)'^M
Just some casting needing to be done?
2) I had to add a few #ifndef __WXMAC__ blocks in places. These are trivial
mods and I'll ask someone about CVS access.
3) I used pnet for tests. When I run from a Terminal ("ilrun Wizard.exe",
for example) the samples launch the appropriate window but clicking on the
titlebar does not give focus and the app's menu is not shown. The "frame"
pops up but I just can't interact with it.
But if I create a .pkg structure and run by launching the pkg I don't have
this problem. Is this expected behavior? If so, is there any way to work
around it so testing is simplified? The environment variables are the same
in each launching method.
Thanks,
-Mike
