Ahh. I see what you were getting to. Sorry. Something like this seems like
gravy after the core wx.NET work is complete, no? You would also still need
to use sizers as absolute position that the VS.NET IDE kicks out won't work.
So you'd have some re-engineering in your UI code to switch to sizers even
retaining much of everything else (although perhaps a tool could be
developed to make 1st pass at the translation). Of course moving forward
someone would develop a nice VS.NET embedded UI editor similar to
wxDesigner.

It's too bad the Mono folks (Novell) don't really target the Mac platform.

It is a nice marketing bullet: download only 700K!(*) blah blah blah

A good number of folks who have downloaded my app already happened to have
CLR installed for one reason or another. It is offered as an optional update
on Windows Update and many people may click it and install it anyway??? I
have no idea of the percentage: I have not done the log file analysis on
this.

From http://www.websiteoptimization.com/bw/0403/ it looks like in the U.S.
high-speed is at 45%. Higher than I expected.

I said "prided myself" on size of download. It will take some time for me to
mourn the passing of all my SWF code -- a good number of custom controls to
boot -- if I end up using wx.NET. Maybe I will have a mock funeral when/if
the time comes ;-).
