event macro/handler/listener syntax

Hi, I noticed that wx.NET uses the AddMenuListener() and similar functions to connect events to the respective handlers. wxWindows, wxPython and wxPerl all use capitalized macros which are identical across all languages. I think this is a big plus (e.g. EVT_BUTTON()). I wonder what the reasoning was, not to do the same for the C# bindings. Is the AddListener() syntax some sort of "native" C# way to connect events to handlers or is it impossible to use macros of some sort in C#?
