No. The two are unrelated. You could compile a release version of wx.NET.dll/wx-c (WXNET_CONFIG=Release) and a debug version of wxGTK (WXW_CONFIG=Debug). I don't think there is much reason to compile wxWidgets in Debug mode. But compiling wx.NET in Debug mode would yield additional stack trace information on an exception within wx.NET itself.
