I see there isn't a filter for CUPS. I believe it uses Common Log
Format, and a minimal filter should just need to summarize the contents
of the error log.

The next step would be summarizing the contents of the access log. I
don't have enough activity in my CPUS logs to know what would be useful.
My logs simply have these two lines repeated:

localhost - - [02/Jul/2007:17:55:45 -0400] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 264
Get-Jobs successful-ok
localhost - - [02/Jul/2007:18:05:22 -0400] "POST / HTTP/1.1" 200 129
CUPS-Get-Classes successful-ok

In theory, due to the use of CLF, these logs could be processed with the
same code used for a web server, though I have my doubts that the
service filter for Apache will produce something useful for CUPS.
