It’s a pain that that can’t be automated AFAIK. I have some projects on
gitlab that get automatically mirrored to github whenever I check in
anything into gitlab. (This is mostly for a kind of backup. And also for
Claude since gitlab is my canonical repo.)

I’ve been using Claude for a while. It works quite well for me. But do
be careful. It was hallucinating problems and solutions for me, making
up things that didn’t actually exist. I eventually added a rule that it
shouldn’t guess but actually look at the source code and nothing else
unless I ask for it.
I also only use the browser version. I didn’t want to give it access to
any of my actual machines or to modify any code. This works fine except
I have to download and apply suggested changes. But I since I have
gitlab mirrored, it can fetch the latest github code to see what I did
and and what’s next.

Both, of course! But it’s up to you.
There are personal projects I wanted to do but haven’t really made any
progress. One big one was support for theta functions. A long time ago,
I (or this list?) got a screenshot from Bill Gosper (yes, that Bill)
about the work he had done with theta functions. Really impressive. Even
had the code, but so much of was in lisp on real Macsyma so I never
figured out what those functions actually did. I think he also sent some
nice algorithms for computing 2F1 over the entire plane. Barton has
solved this using a different approach, I think.
