Hello Jan,

Your advice was perfect. I grabbed the latest package from the
Mercurial repository and I'm now able to build and run the kernel.
It booted up with GRUB on the first try. I see the memory info and
two spinners in the upper right corner. There were no problems at
all building on an amd64 box, and a laptop at that. Everything was
very straightforward.

My interest in L4Ka::Pistachio is as a hobbyist. I've been tinkering
with operating systems for many years, mostly Linux, and I'm
interested to see how L4 kernels work. My specific interest is in
general purpose operating systems and I chose L4Ka because it seemed
the least specialized of all the active L4 variants. Other L4
kernels seem to lean toward distributed, embedded, or other
specialized uses.

I look forward to learning L4Ka::Pistachio and contributing where I can.

Thanks for the help.
