Yeah, I still have several Insteon things, but I have slowly been 
replacing them with other technologies as they fail.  Aside from the 
PLMs, that seem to fail more often than anything, the rest of the 
modules should keep running for a while.

Having said that, all my newest modules have been a mix of Tasmota 
(typically running on Sonoff hardware) and Kasa.  With decent WiFi 
coverage these devices are extremely reliable -- more reliable than 
Insteon IME.

The Tasmota devices have the advantage of being open source and 
non-cloudy, but the disadvantage that it generally need to be flashed 
onto the hardware.  Once you get the process setup it is easy, but can 
be a bit of a hassle to get going.

The Kasa modules work out of the box for receiving commands, but won't 
send anything to MH for local button presses.  They also run stock Kasa 
firmware which means they still try to call home.  I have that blocked 
by my router so am not worried about them getting any undesired firmware 
updates, but it is something to be aware of.  They have the advantage of 
UL certification and generally high quality feel despite being 
surprisingly inexpensive.  On the MH front I recently made some updates 
to the Kasa_Item.pm module that support dimming and RGBW bulbs that I 
will post to github eventually.   If someone wants it earlier just let 
me know.

I also use MySensors for a few other things, such as battery powered 
devices or specialized monitoring.   MySensors is great, by virtue of 
being open source, but you need to build your own modules, and you need 
enough devices to get a wireless mesh with adequate coverage.
