Changing directory permissions and moving files around

We are using an older version of qconfirm: qconfirm-0.10.1/

We have had problems of the pending directories and sometimes the ok and bad directories getting the attributes of the directories altered from drwx--x--- to weird permisions that causes qconfirm-check to fail miserably.  I've resorted to running a cron job to fix those permissions.

Last night I found out one of our users got all his email addresses in the ok directory moved into the bad directory.  What in the world is happening here?

Have any of these problems been fixed in later versions?  Has anyone else even had these kind of problems?

These is running off of a linux 2.4.25 client NFS mounted to a linux 2.4.25 server running ext3.
