Something like TimeOut for Mac, right?

I wouldn't go for the "punishment" of further reduction of brightness 
though. The mind hates being punished and will rebel.
Better to just go ahead and dim it all the way, perhaps with an 
option to show the current time, which is useful for people who tend 
to lose track of time.
