How to add feature to Workrave by myself?

Hello, thank you for making and (still) maintaining Workrave.

Some time ago, I wrote an email to this mailing list that I would like 
to have a custom note when Workrave was working (aka I needed to have a 
break). I know that everyone is busy, but I think I need that feature so 
much. So I write this email to ask you how can I implement this feature 
to Workrave by myself. I'm not a programmer, neither have made any 
software before so I think I will need your help to guide me. Although, 
I have written some Linux shell script before so I think I will learn 
fast. Can you help me to do this? Thank you.
