I found a solution. I downloaded the extensions.js from Github here:
https://github.com/rcaelers/workrave/blob/29b2b7afd692b18060fbe54a3e8b88f8cbf7ecd6/frontend/applets/gnome-shell/src/extension.js

Then I replaced the "extensions.js" installed from the Workrave Ubuntu
PPA with the one from Github. Seems to work nicely, now.
