Workrave 1.8.5 supports gtkmm 2.0 with sigc++ 1.2 and gtkmm2.4 with sigc++2.x.
(1.8.6 will remove gtkmm 2.0 support)

If gtkmm 2.4 is not found, workrave will fallback to gtkmm 2.0, and checks for 
sigc++ 1.2.

So just install gtkmm 2.4 and sigc++ 2.0.
