keep clock running while not actualy working with the computer

Hello everybody, I have a question about workrave. Is there a way to keep the clock runing while i am not acctualy working at my computer? A lot of the time while i am learing i switch back and force between working with the computer and my books/handwriten notes. I figure since the working posture and pattern is very simialar its not really a break but still stress for my schoulder and neck. Thats why i would like to keep the clock running and reminding me to take breaks even when i am not directly using the computer. Thanks for your help.
