What does the "shutdown" button do?

This is great software. I just would like to know what the "Shutdown" 
button does at the end of the work day. Does it just shutdown Workrave 
or the computer? I don't want to try it just in case it's the latter.

I think some more tooltips for GUI components would be useful for 
explaining more of the features in lieu of full documentation.
