Direct USB connection works OK, but not a lot faster than Bluetooth. USB cable is available from a variety of sources online---the expensive transfer box seems to be unnecessary, just get a straight USB cable. Some problems when downloading large collections of camera pictures---may need to download them one at a time rather than as a batch.
