This is just a wild shot, (I know nothing about the VX-9900) but it may be that after phonebook and calendar operations, the phone gets rebooted. When the phone comes back up, the operating system might assign a different COM port to the phone. If you have manually chosen the port (or used detect-phone to find the port), then you may not be talking to the phone at all. If you think this is the case, then redetect before doing the filesystem view, or use "auto" for the port name. If the port is changing, this is something that may be addressible in BitPim. If you do whatever you need to do to get the phone and BitPim in a proper state, can you get the filesystem view to work with the changes to p_brew.p that I made?
