I'm glad a clean reinstall worked for you. Wish it did for me.
I removed the previous version and installed 1.0.7.4822 (20100124)
For me the program opens ok, finds the phone (LG VX9200), but clicking
the PhoneInfo button gives me a box with no phone info. Trying to get
anything from the phone results in a exception:
File "prototypes.pyo", line 1532, in readfrombuffer
IndexError: tried to read too many list items

I happened to grab a test build back in November. Fortunately I still
have the installer for that build 1.0.7.4767 (20091103)
The bug with the leading four zeros on all phone numbers is fixed and
This version works well enough to transfer the phone book, ring tones,
and wallpaper.
Of course you absolutely must NOT try send any groups to the phone, and
it's got the bug where the last speed dial entry gets propagated into
all higher numbered speed dial entries.
