Calendar events imported from ical file do not upload to phone, events created in bitpim do

I have a Samsung SCH-U470 ("Juke") which is a Verizon phone. When I import
calendar events into bitpim from an ical file (exported from google
calendar) or direct from the google url, the events appear to come through
into bitpim successfully. I also use the "filter" options to make the alarm
settings the same. I can look at the calendar events in bitpim, and they
all look normal. However, when I send the calendar to my phone, none of the
events come through successfully. When I send the events, I check the
"calendar" box and the "replace all" radio button.

In a second test, I kept all the imported calendar events in bitpim and
added a new event through the bitpim calendar interface. Then I sent all
the calendar events to my phone again, and just the single event I created
in bitpim showed up, none of the imported events.

FYI, I am only importing about 10 events from the ical file, they are all
within a couple of months range.

I do not get any error messages at any point in either of these tests.

Can anyone help me fix this problem?

Thank you,

Micah
