Some interesting results with the Samsung Caliber

Bitpim version is 1.0.6, operating system is Windows XP, the cellphone is
the Samsung Caliber R850 by MetroPCS, and the data cable is ECCIDU2BBE.
After installing the driver in a cd that came with the phone, I managed to
get Bitpim to acknowledge both a serial port and a modem port for Samsung.
When attempting to use the serial port with the file system, it almost
immediately stops but, with the modem, it has "Retrieving..." message a
minute or two before finally stopping.

The log reports "Timed out - flushing and trying again" so I'm assuming this
means Bitpim simply doesn't know how to open the phone's internal files. If
it helps, there is software called "Samsung New PC Studio" that also was
included with the cd and is able to interact with images, sound files, and
videos stored on the phone so it has some limited ability to internally view
the phone's files. Just thought I'd share the results to see if anyone can
make use of them.
