Unknown Ringtone Format

Equipment:
BITPIM: 1.0.7-Deb
OS: Ubuntu 10.10
Phone: Samsung A670
Cable: USB->Samsung  (3rd party)
Carrier: Verizon

Problem:
I am trying to get a ringtone off of an older phone into a format that I can
use.  Currently, I can connect to the phone just fine.  I can pull .jpg
images off of the phone which leads me to believe that the connection is
good a works correctly.  However, when I get ringtones from the phone, they
are in files with no extension.  The file names are just a string of
numbers, and I cannot find a way to play the tones.

The ringtones are polyphonic, and I think they should be in .midi format.  I
have tried to add an extension to the filename, but with no luck.  I've
tried .mid .midi .qcp .pmd .mmf   ...nothing has worked.

I've also imported the files into audacity as both midi and raw.  The midi
import does not do anything, and the raw format is just white noise, which
leads me to believe there is some kind of compression.

I cannot find anything describing the format that bitpim saves ringtones as.

Question (in short):

How do I save ringtones from my phone to my computer in a playable format
(.mid .mp3 .wav etc.)?
