How to copy Phone Book to ENV3 with BitPim (RESOLVED)

As I am sure we users of the Env3 have found that Bitpim will copy your
address book from your phone to the computer but not back.  I recently had
to replace mine under warranty and have a new and old Env3. I took and
chance and did the following and it worked perfectly AND I could also add
additional contacts after the process:

1. On your c: drive or desktop create a temp folder name whatever you want.
2. Attach your phone
3. Open BitPim
4. Ok through recognition of your phone
5. Select Data on your phone
6. On the menu tree on the left select FILE SYSTEM
7. Click the "+" sign next to the folder and "/" mark in the middle window
pane (this will take some time be patient)
8. In the files system tree look for a folder called "pim" (no quotes)
9. Click once on it.
10. To the right you will see files.
11. Right click on each the files that start with "pb" (no quotes)
individually (no multiselect)and click save
12. Save each of these files to your folder location
13. Lastly find record_id.dat, right click and save to same location
14. Unplug your old phone and plug in your new phone
15. Repeat steps 2-8
16. Find the same files that you have in your folder in the new phones file
system.
17. Right click on the files in Bitpim and select "Overwrite"
18. A files select dialog will open, navigate to your folder and find the
same named file and select it and click open.
19. Give the file time to be copied to the new phone and repeat steps 16-18
for all files in your folder
20. Once that is completed turn off your phone and turn it back on.

VOILA! You now have your contacts.  The group data file is copied as well so
you should  have your groups. I don't use them so I am not completely sure.

This process is provided "as is" and I am not personally responsible for the
individual outcomes.  DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.  This worked for me and my
Env3 phones and I would not suggest testing on cross platform (i.e. Voyager
phonebook to a Env3 phonebook etc.)  Only Env3 to Env3.  Hope this helps as
I was beating my head against the wall and really did't want to go back to
Verizon just to have my contacts moved over since the replacement was mailed
to my house.
