I re-iterate,
This is a known problem. The only way to combat it is to use SIM memory. 
If one does not wish to use SIM memory, then one has to check SIM memory 
and handle any SMSs which land up in SIM memory. The latter approach is 
more problematic then simply routing incoming SMSs through SIM memory, OR 
accepting that the old mechanism of directly forwarding SMSs to terminal 
equiment will loose those SMSs which hit SIM memory.
Either way, you have to interrogate memory at some point. The simpler 
method is only to use SIM memory.
