we have such a beast (called mmsbox) that I writen on Kannel sources.
It acts as MMSC including MMS encapsulation support, delivery
notification, message state handling, etc. etc. etc.

;)

It should go (in some time I can't predict) to kannel.org, as seperate
cvs module. But don't claim for it.
