Reading messages out of memory on startup (AT Driver)

Has anyone modified the AT driver to automatically read unread messages out of a phones memory on startup? I'm working with the scenario where the SIM recieved a load of messages, but Kannel wasn't running to read them so they went to the phone memory (SIM memory I'm guessing actually).

If not I'll add the code in
