Frequent disconnect/reconnect

Hi everybody,

I am using kannel 1.2.1 to connect to our SMSC which supports CIMD2 protocol. 
I hacked the code to support Tariff Class, Service Description and Alpha 
numeric Originating Address because our SMSC requires us to set these values 
for billing. Everything seems to be fine but when I monitored the kannel 
logs, I encountered a frequent disconnection. I set keepalive=1 in the kannel 
config but it doesn't seem to help solve the problem. Please help.
