I don't think this add-on will beat records. We deal here with
chicken-egg problem: browsers don't support, web authors don't use it.

I don't have strong opinion about UI for longdesc. If the spec doesn't
require the browser to do that then we need to delegate the answer of
this question to HTML w3c gurus at Mozilla. From accessibility point
of view we always can provide a special support it for ATs.
