you are not alone.  there are devs working on it, but not many.  the 
next release should be more stable (SocketConnect crash is being fixed). 
  I am also looking into embedding code, threading issues, and generally 
making sure the thing builds.  Problem is, besides myself, I can count 
the number of BeOS only devs on one hand, even if I was missing a couple 
of fingers :(

So, unless you want to help, be patient.
