Suggestion: draw symbols "vectorially"

This is just a an idea:

In math rendering there have been problems of installed fonts: "I don't
have the STIX fonts", "Linux doesn't have this", "This symbol does not
stretch"...

Why not *draw* symbols such as radicals, integrals, parentheses, sq.
brackets, braces, sum, product, arrows, etc. as you would draw an SVG
drawing?

Fx does a great job rendering SVG shapes with antialiasing, and now
prints these (to printer or pdf) vectorially. This way symbols would be
available for all and would scale to whatever they need.
