Moving 'Application Data' directories

I'd like to move the Mozilla directory that contains mail, newsgroups, prefs,
etc to a different directory.  I've seen a few posts from last year, but they
were for  pre-1.0 versions, and had disclaimers about how it wouldn't work for
mail and news.
Is there a simple way to move this data?
