We are not removing anything. We are just using m-r earlier to be able to work on two versions in parallel (38 & 38.0.5).
It is pure technical logistic. Users will still have regular beta updates.

Yes, and we are not swapping:
m-r is our N release (38.0)
m-b is our N+1 release (38.0.5)
We will be starting beta builds from the m-r branches.
We could have created a new repository for this but using m-r was easier.

I am not sure we are suggesting that: we do dot release without security fixes.

Good question: the 38.1.0 version name is already used by the first ESR release (thanks RyanVM btw ;))

We are going to. We are waiting for 38.0 to be released and we will make 4 beta builds of 38.0.5 (published to our users) and one RC.
