As I said, you will always be right at this subject, and I'm not
well-informed ;)

But my argument is not on the same field ... Internationalization is
something to care about, but not a stopper in this context.

Maybe the Iphone do not work in India because of the lack of
diacritics support... so Indians used others phones.

I'm not Indian, but I'm French... I know what is a missing character
!

For example this one "É" only become usable on computers like 4
years ago, and you can type it quickly only under Linux.

SVG is young, SVG Fonts are even more younger : for the purpose we
want to use them for, diacritics aren't a stopper, but something to
add to the to-do list.

I've quickly met Doug Schepers at LGM 2010, and all he was asking
for SVG 2.0 is proposals and participation. I'm sure diacritics and
complex shaping can be added.

Anyway, thanks for giving me the reply, at least discussion is open
now ;)

No-one has made any proposals for adding general shaping
support to SVG Fonts for SVG 2.0 (or in any other spec). No
one has even explained how it could be done.

SVG Fonts are
interesting in a particular context : for graphics, and
design, like in Scalable Vector Graphics.
In such a context, diacritics aren't a key argument for not
implementing SVG Fonts.

I think you can only say that because your native language is
not a heavy user of diacritics (or other complex shaping).
