An RPM would be easier, but you'd need  different RPM's for different 
RPM-based distributions of linux. In fact, linux is developing so 
quickly that an RPM for one version of a given distribution might not 
work in another version of that same distribution.
The Mozilla installation wizard isn't too hard to figure out, once you 
understand how to un-tar / un-zip the tar.gz file. The command line is 
your friend.
If you want a real nightmare, try installing the Gimp...
