If the plugin was properly installed you should get a "Shockwave
Flash" entry in the URL about:plugins.

If it's installed but the page is still not working that's probably
because the page you are looking at is not coded in a standards
compliant way and thus not working i Mozilla. I cannot say if this
really is the case without knowing what page you are looking at.

What I do in those occasions is viewing the source of the page,
finding the location of the Flash film and paste it in the location
bar by hand. Hint: the file extension is .swf.
