Mozilla 1.8a5 and qt toolkit -> slow ?

I tried yesterday to compile Mozilla 1.8a5 (20041123) with the toolkit qt,
this compiles fine for me. But the "result" ain't that good and I'm bit
wondering if it's just the tookit that isn't well written or something else.

I'm using QT 3.3.3

The first thing I noticed was the Mordern theme, there is a lot of "empty"
space between (not using the theme background color) the buttons, so the theme
looks quite bad. Some text-inputs has black baground, makes it impossible to
read what you write. When browsing, not all images are loaded, pages takes a
lot longer to load than when using gtk+ (don't use gtk2 as it breaks all to
much of the useblility for me).

Could this be the qt toolkit that causes this, the version of QT or?

Thanks for your thought about this.
