I've had a qt build as one of those "around to it" things to do.  Your 
post got me off my butt to build one.

Slackware/current w/qt 3.3.3 also.

The build went fine (today's CVS) but operability is non existent. 
Meaning the application starts, and unlike your problem the UI seems 
complete, but I can neither login to the Password Manager (the box opens 
prompting for master password, but will not accept text, and the cancel 
button is non functional), and CPU usage jumps to the high 90's.

When I attempted to check this (change themes, I use Classic), Edit > 
Preferences caused a segfault.  But the Classic theme looks perfect with 
the exception the fonts are oversized.

You might want to check your environment

QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt

Other than that I'm helpless :-)
