plugin binary compatibility issues on linux/x86

Hello,

I'm having trouble with a plugin I'm writing for linux/x86.  It seems to 
have binary compatibility problems between several linux distros.  I was 
wondering if anyone has any tips/suggestions/resources they can offer 
for eliminating this sort of issue.  Unfortunately I can't release the 
source and needing to QA multiple different builds of the same product 
but targetted at different distros is a burden I'd like to avoid.

This seems like an issue that folks at Adobe/Macromedia and others would 
have had to grapple with as well.
