Yeah, I guess Firefox wouldn't be expecting IE bookmarks on *nix.

Honestly, I'm not sure how you can do it. I know -- This is a few steps, 
but import your IE bookmarks into Firefox on Windows, and them export 
them via the Firefox Bookmarks Manager, and import that file on Linux.
