Firefox (Win2K) Accessing Strange Ports & Won't Run

Just d/l'd Firefox 1.0 and installed on a fresh Win2K Professional
system with ZoneAlarm, and can't the #*(@)&* to work. When loading it
tries to access a strange port on localhost (e.g. 127.0.0.1:1057). If I
allow that, it goes away into limbo. No window appears, and it doesn't
show up in the task list. However, it does appear in the process list.

If I block the access, firefox comes up but can't contact any servers.

WTFO? I've uninstalled and reinstalled three times now. I've tried
unloading ZoneAlarm completely (same result as just allowing the
access). I've tried rebooting. Help, please!
